(for the MASTER PROGRAM or TRANSFER scroll down):
Next registration for winterterm 2014/15:
1 November 2013 - 10 DEZEMBER 2014.
An admission can be filed only after having passed successfully the artistic aptitude test, whereupon the applicants will receive the corresponding application form from Berlin Weissensee Art Academy.
The complete application process begins with the application for the artistic aptitude test which has to be sent to the school between 1st November to 10th December. The application form for the aptitude test can be downloaded here
In January applicants will get the invitation to the aptitude test, which takes place in February (17th - 21st) and begins with the submission of your portfolio and if required your special artistic homework. The examining board reviews the submitted portfolios.
It selects those candidates who reveal the artistic qualification for the requested subject. If you are on the shortlist you have to pass artistic tests during 2 or 3 days, that includes also a written exercise and an interview with the examination board.
So you have to be in Berlin, also for the risk you don´t get an invitation for the test, it means you can retire after watching the portfolios.
As the aptitude test will be carried out in German it is absolutely necessary to be provided with a sufficient knowledge of German language. Therefore we ask international applicants to submit with the application form proof German language proficiency level A 2.2.
If you pass this test successfully you are allowed/invited to apply for admission at the Berlin Weissensee Art Academy, if you comply with all formalities.
All applicants are welcome if they fulfill the following admission prerequisites:

-proof of German language proficiency
The language of instruction is German in all our courses. For application (December) you should be able to prove the language proficiency: minimum of level A2.2. Needless to say that most professors speak English very well so that you may be able to explain your ideas, aims and motivation also in English.
