How to apply for the Master's programs:

Applications are open from the beginning of March and close with extension Mai, 15.

Please send the completed application form MA - Antrag of the desired department with all the requested documents (page 2) until the deadline of 05/15/2013 to the school of art Berlin Weissensee. Before you apply for the Master-Program, please inform yourself about the admission requirements (Zulassungsordnung).

Admission requirements for international students:
at least a 3-4 years degree (Bachelor in the same program), artistic aptitude (to be proofed in the entrance exam) & a written study proposal. Please mind: all courses are in German, so you´ll need a German language proficiency (minimum level C1 CEFR: f. example Test-DAF 4 or DSH 2 or TELC: at latest by beginning of study) and its is important to know that already with the application you will have to hand out a language certificate level A.2.2!

BACHELOR´S DEGREE (for Master scroll up):

Registration is closed for winterterm 2013/14. Next registration for winterterm 2014/15 in November 2013.

An admission can be filed only after having passed successfully the artistic aptitude test, whereupon the applicants will receive the corresponding application form from Weissensee school of art and design.

The complete application process begins with the application for the artistic aptitude test which has to be sent to the school between 1st November to 10th December. The application form for the aptitude test can be downloaded here

In January applicants will get the invitation to the aptitude test, which takes place in February and begins with the depositing of your portfolio and an additional creative homework exercise. The examining board reviews the submitted portfolios. It selects those candidates who reveal the artistic qualification for the requested subject. These participants do a practical entrance examination of two days. For the successful applicants the aptitude test ends with an interview.

At the aptitude test it is absolutely necessary to be provided with a sufficient knowledge of German language.

All applicants are welcome if they fulfill the following admission prerequisites: artistic aptitude, qualification for entrance to German University that means a Higher Secondary (School) certificate or alternatively special artistic aptitude, proof of German language proficiency (language of instruction is German in all our courses. You have to submit Testdaf 4 or C1 or DSH 2 at least by the beginning of the study program in October and the applicants for the design departments need a proof of practical experiences in a study relevant field about 6-8 weeks minimum!
