Against the backdrop of the doubling of air traffic volume by 2032, the work examines the decomposition of the rigid functional unit airplane. Usage requirements and scenarios are separated from the function of flying – the flexible combination of a modularized interior of the cabin, drive and wings. This allows for new business models, shortens the time on the ground and opens the air traffic market for new perspectives. With the consistent modularization of the interior, it is possible to react quickly to varying requirements in capacity utilization, equipment and freight sections without impeding flight sequences. Supervision Prof. Nils Krüger and Prof. Jörg Petruschat.
