Sommersemester 2015, BA/MA Visuelle Kommunikation VK_2017

Reportagen

Before I moved to Berlin, I could barely place it on a map. At the time, I was living in a small, expensive apartment in the suburbs of Tokyo juggling a part-time job and freelance work and feeling stuck in a dead-end relationship. So when I got a chance to leave it all behind me, I never looked back. Five years later, I notice more and more Japanese people in the city. I started to wonder: who are they? Why are they here? What do they do? Are they here to stay? This project was an opportunity for me to connect with the Japanese community in Berlin and meet some fellow creative minds who aren’t quite ready to leave just yet.
