weißensee kunsthochschule berlin is deeply shocked by the war in Ukraine. We feel responsible to help students and prospective students who are endangered by the war. We would like to support all directly and indirectly affected students within the frame of our possibilities and are currently working intensively on the offer of study opportunities at weißensee kunsthochschule berlin.

On this page we have created an overview with the most important information, which will be updated regularly.

The General Student Advisory Service is the first point of contact if you are interested in studying art or design at weißensee kunsthochschule berlin. Together we will consider which support services best suit you. We advise you in detail about your study options. We coordinate and provide information on guest studies in your desired field as well as on the possibility of regular study through the university transfer procedure.

Prospective students are welcome to participate in the yearly application process for undergraduate degree programs. Application period 11/1-10/12.
 

 


Summer Program and Guest studies

The *foundationclass is a study preparation program at weißensee kunsthochschule berlin, where prospective students can learn about art and design, share their own artistic practice and build/reconstruct a strong portfolio to apply to German-speaking art and design schools.

For students who are at risk due to a war and would like to continue their studies in Berlin, we offer a free guest study program. With a proof of your current or completed studies in Ukraine (or also in Russia or Belarus and other countries), interested students can apply for a guest student status.

To apply for guest studies and for further information on the courses offered, please contact Susan Lipp.
 


Admission to studies via university transfer

For art and design students who have come to Berlin as a refugee of the war in Ukraine, there is the possibility of a regular admission via the Hochschulwechsel/Transfer with the corresponding placement in a higher semester. Students and guest students affected by the war can apply in May and December 2022 for the coming semester. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee of admission.

Application to study (Fine arts and BA design programs for the 1st semester

People with refugee experience who aspire to study art or design and would like to study at weißensee are welcome to apply for the undergraduate degree programs from 11/1-10/12/2022 for the following winter semester (start October 23), more information can be found at:

Learn German in Berlin!

If you plan to study at a German institution of higher education on a regular basis, you will need to provide proof of language proficiency. For our offered guest studies you do not need German language skills, practical English skills are sufficient.
