Christine Goutrié


Biography

Christine Goutrié is a professor at the weissensee school of art and design in Berlin since 2013 and teaches digital media in the foundation year for all kind of students. With her background in computer science, HCI, and interaction design she teaches with great enthusiasm first year students the basic concepts of digital media and encourages them to leave behind all their fears and scepticism towards coding. Her approach to establish inclusive spaces for all students with different experiences and backgrounds always integrates the political and socio-cultural dimension into her teaching.
Consequently, she also very engaged in anti-discriminatory work at the institution of the art and design school as a member of the equal opportunity commission since 2017 and lead the critical diversity project "Ich seh' was, was du nicht siehst.." between 2019 and 2021.
She is sharing the job of head of foundation department with Ulf Aminde since 2016.
In her research she focusses on digital inclusion and was involved in the Bauhaus 4.0 project and is currently one researcher in the EU project "(A)rt and (R)esearch on (T)ransformations of (I)ndividuals and (S)ocieties – ARTIS".
2000 she became a professor at the University of Magdeburg-Stendal and established the new field of interaction design there. She developed and supervised several design programs, e.g. an online master’s programme Cross Media which integrates interaction design, management and journalism as the core fields and uses a wide variety of online teaching methods.
2005/06 she was a guest professor at the UC Berkeley/USA at the Center of Information Technology in the Interest of Society and worked there at the Berkley Design Institute as well as at the computer science department. She was part of the team of the tele- tele-immersion lab of Ruzena Bajcsi.
Christine Goutrié grew up in East Germany and was 21 when the GDR collapsed.


Biografie

Christine Goutrié ist seit 2013 Professorin an der Kunsthochschule Weißensee in Berlin und unterrichtet digitale Medien im Grundstudium für alle Studierenden. Mit ihrem Hintergrund in Informatik, HCI und Interaktionsdesign unterrichtet sie mit großem Enthusiasmus Studierende im ersten Studienjahr in den grundlegenden Konzepten der digitalen Medien und ermutigt sie, ihre Ängste und Skepsis gegenüber dem Programmieren hinter sich zu lassen. Ihr Ansatz, integrative Räume für alle Studierenden mit unterschiedlichen Erfahrungen und Hintergründen zu schaffen, bezieht immer auch die politische und soziokulturelle Dimension in ihren Unterricht ein.
Daher engagiert sie sich auch sehr für die Antidiskriminierungsarbeit an der Institution der Kunst- und Designschule als Mitglied der Kommission Chancengleichheit seit 2017 und leitete das kritische Diversitätsprojekt "Ich seh' was, was du nicht siehst..." zwischen 2019 und 2021.
Seit 2016 teilt sie sich die Position der Fachgebietssprecherin Grundlagen mit Ulf Aminde.

Sie entwickelte und co-leitete mehrere Designstudiengänge, u.a. einen Online-Masterstudiengang Cross Media, der Interaktionsdesign, Management und Journalistik als Kernbereiche integriert und eine Vielzahl von Online-Lehrmethoden einsetzt.

Christine Goutrié wuchs in Ostdeutschland auf und war 21 Jahre alt, als die DDR zusammenbrach.
