MIRAI – shaping the future of connected devices

MIRAI seeks to reimagine a society of things which is regulated by the ultratool. It explores creative interactions between devices. The project is bulid arround a scenario about privacy and cyber security within a home environment. Basis of the knowledge about SoT was drawn form the paper "Society of things: An alternative vision of Internetof things" (2015) written by Gulnara Z. Karimova & Amir Shirkhanbeik.

To imagine Mirai we choose to set a certain scenario in which the device-society has to challenge a cyber attack. The devices will have diverse security standards, so how might the SoT work together to ensure a more cyber-secure and cyber-aware home environment?

We believe that through speculations like Mirai, we can shape the development of future connected devices through either hardware, software or legislations. We need these imaginative scenarios as in the future, these devices will need to be more dynamic, efficient, intelligent and cooperative.
