In exceptional cases, a proof of the exam registration or a certificate of the B2/C1 - course is also sufficient for the time being. The relevant language certificate must be submitted before the studies begin.

Recognition of certificates

The higher education entrance qualification and Bachelor's or degree certificates must be recognized in Germany. The general higher education entrance qualification is only required in the BA Design departments, unless the "special artistic aptitude" has been proven in the entrance exam. A secondary school leaving certificate is sufficient for Fine Arts courses. Your certificates will be checked directly here at the weißensee academy of art berlin.

You can check certificates yourself in advance in the database www.anabin.de and in the DAAD admissions database (German/English).  You are also welcome to contact the Student Advisory Service.

If the certificates are not issued in German or English, an officially certified translation must also be provided. Please upload the translated documents as a pdf together with the scans of the originals of your certificates. For admission, the certificates must be submitted in German or English and an officially certified copy in paper form. The admission periods for Fine Arts and BA Design are in April, for the Master's programs in July and for the Art Therapy program in January)

Applicants who are unable to provide proof of a higher education entrance qualification acquired in their home country due to flight may, under certain conditions, be granted a reduction in the burden of proof. The examination is carried out by the Department of Student Affairs.
